Our recent Action Week focused on enabling homeless people to rejoin society. There's no doubt that homeless people are radically excluded from society in many ways such as lack of access to appropriate healthcare and insufficient 'back to work' support.
At St Mungo's we are working tirelessly to ensure that the voices of homeless and excluded people are heard. We believe that lasting change will only occur if the views of homeless and excluded people are heard at every level of decision-making.
In the lead up to Action Week, we asked our clients for their views on whether the Big Society works for them. The results are included in our Big Report launched at the Houses of Parliament reception on Tuesday 28 June, which outlines our key policy arguments and recommendations about overcoming and avoiding homeless exclusion.

We have also launched our Big Appeal to raise funds to help more homeless people transform their lives and become part of society once again. We aim to support even more homeless men and women to improve their health and help them get back into education, training and employment. We are working with MPs and local councillors from all parties to hold the Government to account in their pledge to ‘protect the most vulnerable' and deliver on the Big Society for those who are disadvantaged.
Prime Minister David Cameron and Housing Minister Grant Shapps sent messages of support for Action Week, and more than 30 MPs have already endorsed our Action Week pledge.
