Why does St Mungo's do face-to-face fundraising?

Face-to-face fundraising allows us to raise awareness, so that people, who may not normally hear about us, can find out about the vital work we do. We find it a particularly good way to get our message across to people who are not normally responsive to direct mail.

Face-to-face fundraising is one of the most successful and cost-effective ways to recruit new supporters and a large number will continue to support St Mungo's for many years.

Supporters are asked to set up direct debits to St Mungo's. This provides us with ongoing income meaning we can plan ahead and be there for homeless people for as long as they need our support. We would only encourage someone to sign up to support St Mungo's via direct debit if they were able to do so for a significant period of time, for example, at least a year.
