We believe that, in addition to providing residents with accommodation, it is vitally important we can give the clients who rely on our support the daily essentials they need, and so we have created a special Resident Welfare Budget. This means we can provide welcome packs for new residents, which might include some basics such as toiletries and clothing, and it enables us to run life skills activities at our projects. We run everything from a Russian Kitchen to a mid week pasta lunch club, involving anything from budgeting, food shopping to cooking and enjoying a nutritious meal.
The men and women we work with have a wide range of support needs, and therefore our Resident Welfare Budget:
Just think how welcome some basic essentials and a hot meal could be for someone coming off the streets. However, that really is just the beginning.
We want our clients to escape homelessness for good. It is why, for example, we aim to ensure clients receive a health check, specialist counselling and develop their skills. Our training and employment programmes help people on the path towards rebuilding their lives. It's about giving residents the health, skills and confidence to make a long-term break away from homelessness.
We simply could not do all this without the generosity of our supporters. So, on behalf of the people who rely on us, thank you for helping us provide the essentials.
Government funding meets our basic costs, and we are grateful, but there is always so much more that needs to be done, which is why your gift is so important to us. Your kind gift will be used where it is most needed, ensuring that you are making a real difference to the life of a homeless person.
Thank you for helping someone off the streets for good.
