Ecominds has generously donated funds for St Mungo's to employ a Therapeutic Gardener Trainer within our Putting Down Roots programme, which is a gardening project. The trainer supports those clients who have mental health problems and have been directly referred from St Mungo's mental health team. Gardening can have a positive effect on mental and physical well being as well as helping clients to gain accredited training; therefore PDR can be an invaluable programme to aid recovery.

The Ecominds funding scheme helps thousands of people with direct experience of mental distress, involving them in local environmental projects to improve confidence and self esteem. This scheme is run by Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales, thanks to £7.5 million of BIG Lottery Funding.
