The Finnis Scott Foundation

St Mungo's received a generous donation of £4,400 from the Finnis Scott Foundation towards Putting Down Roots - our innovative gardening training programme which has helped homeless people gain confidence and skills for over 10 years. With the support of a qualified Gardener Trainer, participants work in a variety of horticultural settings in public and hostel gardens, contribute to their local community and have the opportunity to achieve an Open College Network qualification.

The Finnis Scott Foundation supports horticulture and plant sciences and its funding has provided essential tools and equipment for Putting Down Roots - enabling yet more homeless people to take part in the programme throughout 2011 and learn new skills, develop positive relationships and increase their motivation to recover.
