Basic skills

One of the fundamental building blocks of supporting people back to meaningful activity and employment is ensuring that people have basic skills.

This means being able to read and write to a functional level, basic numeracy and qualifications equivalent to GCSEs.

This is the minimum access to education which everyone is entitled to. However, due to the complex nature of homeless people's needs and their likely past experience of education it is important that we find ways of providing appropiate access to these skills.

Many of our clients have benefited from informal learning and activities as thier confidence and self-esteem have increased. As a specialist provider we have delevoped expertise in helping our clients develop 'soft' skills, which equip them to take steps towards recovery.
