Giving through your payroll to help homeless people

Did you know when you donate to St Mungo's through your payroll it costs you less to give more? Every £1 you give only costs you 80p, or 60p if you are a higher rate tax payer. This is because your donation is taken from your salary before any tax is deducted. For example, if you pledge £10 a month to St Mungo's, only £8 will come out of your salary. Or if you are a higher rate tax payer, you only pay £6 for a donation of £10 to St Mungo's. The tax man pays the rest!
