Council leader visits Camden mental health project

Camden Council leader Keith Moffitt made a visit to a specialist mental health project today, as part of a tour he is making of supported housing provision and hostels across the borough.

Cllr Keith Moffitt, leader of Camden Council said:

"I found the visit to Adamson Road extremely interesting and appreciated the time St Mungo's took to give me a tour of the hostel.

"The hostel provides a valuable service ensuring the most vulnerable people with mental health problems in our borough have a roof over their heads where they can receive support services that are tailored to their needs.

"Camden Council is working in partnership with St Mungo's and other pathways providers to help people overcome the problems that cause or contribute to their homelessness, so that they can eventually settle into independent accommodation".

Mike McCall, St Mungo's Executive Director of Operations, said:

"It was a genuine pleasure to show Cllr Moffitt around the accommodation and introduce him to staff and residents. We were able to highlight some of the challenges facing our clients on their road to recovery."

"We look forward to sharing with Camden Council key findings from our upcoming call for evidence on mental health and homelessness, and working together further in the future."
