Cold weather support

When it's freezing, supporting rough sleepers out of the cold and into emergency shelter provision is vital.

During the extreme cold weather our outreach teams in London (Westminster, Southwark and Ealing) and the South (Bristol and Reading) are out supporting individuals into emergency shelter provision, engaging even more with rough sleepers and those in need, and tracking down new referrals.

Our teams work with local boroughs on what is called SWEP provision (Severe Weather Emergency Protocols).

During the cold weather we would ask people to help us even more:

  • Click here to tell our outreach teams about a rough sleeper or email us at streetconcern@mungos.org
  • If it is an emergency situation, please call 999 for an ambulance or the police.

You can also contact, in London, the No Second Night Out service, or for information on who to contact across London, see Homeless Link webpages. Nationally, there's the StreetLink referral service.
