Despite the challenges homeless people face, such as poor health or educational needs, the majority of our clients have a desire to work, either now or in the future. To help them towards this goal, we offer a large range of activities as well as 11 different skills and employment programmes.
In Autumn 2012 we started our St Mungo's Recovery College, with courses co-designed by clients and staff.
We also provide one of the largest programmes of occupation and learning opportunities for homeless people, including:
One client recently found work with a major food company with the help of the Employment team. She said:
"[They] advised me to apply for a full-time position with the company. Within a week I was asked to come for an interview where I successfully secured a job. I am totally over the moon and have been on cloud nine since getting back into work."
