The Compass Centre is the base for the Bristol Street Outreach team and a range of other services for homeless people. St Mungo's began managing the Centre and services in 2009.
Street Outreach - our Street Outreach team provide support and case management for rough sleepers in the city, coordinating closely with housing providers across Bristol. The team work proactively with clients on the streets and at the Compass Centre to move people into appropriate accommodation and reduce the number of rough sleepers, or those at risk of rough sleeping in insecure accommodation.
Compass Health - there is a specialist healthcare service for homeless people in the Centre, staffed by nurses and GPs. Compass Health is a partnership between the Lawrence Hill Health Centre and Second Step For more information, call Compass Health on 0117 989 2450.
The Wellbeing Service - this is a joint venture between St Mungo's and Second Step providing mental health support for homeless and vulnerable people. The service is staffed by a clinical manager, psychologist, and two engagement and assessment workers.
Pathways to Employment - our dedicated Pathways to Employment team support and encourage our clients to access training, education, employment and volunteering opportunities. The team also offer CV and interview training and educational programmes to help improve numeracy and literacy skills.
IT suite - used mainly by our Pathways to Employment clients and staff, the IT suite is a valued resource enabling our clients to gain or improve their IT skills including.
St Mungo's café - the thriving cafe is run by volunteers and former homeless people and is open for all Compass Centre visitors.
Other activities - the Centre is also a base for a range of activities from art groups to a walking club, from gardening activities to the St Mungo's Community Choir.
